Bellator 176 - Carvalho vs Manhoef 2

Date: 8th April 2017

Location: Torino, Italy

Venue: Pala Alpitour

Bellator arrives into Torino, Italy for the second time with a thrilling card showcasing MMA as well as kickboxing. The main card features Rafael Carvalho defending his middleweight belt in a rematch against Melvin Manhoef, and the women’s flyweight kickboxing title is also up for grabs as Denise Kielholtz defends her belt against Martine Michieletto. The card also features legends including Giorgio Petrosyan and John Wayne Parr but focusing on MMA, let’s take a look at the main card and key statistics for the fights at Bellator 176.

The first meeting between Carvalho and Manhoef did not live up to expectations back in May 2016. The fight promised so much with 38 knock-outs between them; it was striker vs striker. Range, finesse and precision vs explosive, terrifying power. However, neither showed up on the night and both were very tentative, coasting their way to a controversial split decision in which Carvalho just edged it. Let’s hope these guys show the world what they are capable of in the rematch.

See below for our statistical breakdown of the main card:

Carvalho v Manhoef
Yankova v EL
Coulibaly v Nica
Chan v Mircea
