Bellator 175 - Rampage vs King Mo 2

Date: Friday 31st March, 2017

Location: Rosemont, Illinois

Venue: Allstate Arena

The long awaited rematch is finally here between Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson and Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal. Their infamous grudge match back in May 2014 was at light heavyweight and went the way of Rampage via a unanimous decision, much to the anger of King Mo. He was furious with the result, immediately voicing his anger in the cage after the decision by claiming he won the fight, and Rampage responded by offering a rematch. The rematch is now upon us and will be fought at heavyweight.

Since their fight, King Mo has been more active with 10 fights (8-2), whereas Rampage has only had two (2-0) which were at a heavier weight. King Mo even ventured into Rizin (Japanese organisation), where he won the Heavyweight Grand Prix 2015, but he has suffered a couple of losses to Mirko Cro Cop in Rizin and Phil Davis in Bellator, who went on to win the light heavyweight title. However, this should not deter his confidence going into this fight with Rampage; he thought he won the first meeting and is now out for vengeance.

Although Rampage has been inactive, he has not lost in his last five fights and will not only be confident on beating King Mo again, but he will be striving for the KO. Rampage is a legend of the sport and made a name for himself with epic slams, but now prefers to avoid grappling and enforce his powerful boxing, which is exactly what he’ll need to do against King Mo who is a beast wrestler. King Mo’s easiest route to victory is to take Rampage down and control the fight on the ground, but let’s hope he decides to stand so we can observe their knock-out power on full display.

See below for a statistical breakdown for the fight, along with breakdowns for the rest of the main card:

Rampage v King Mo
Kharitonov v Gormley
Galvao v Sanchez
Kozola v Roberts
Lahat v Carter
